Here’s
one of many stories from the field that prove fall protection
saves lives:
A construction
worker slipped from a steel beam 6 stories up while working
at the Lambeau Field Renovation project in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Thankfully he had fall protection and knew how to use it,
so he was safely rescued and back at work quickly. Soon afterward
another worker on the project also slipped from a beam. He,
too, escaped serious injury—or worse—because he
had fall protection equipment.
Fortunately
for these workers, the Lambeau Field general contractor, Turner
Construction, had signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement
with OSHA. This agreement required 100 percent use of fall
protection above 6 feet, in compliance with Standard 29 CFR
1926.500-503. Turner Construction enforced its OSHA agreement
to the letter and saved at least two lives!
